The Force is Strong with You!

IMG_4238This was the year when it all ended.
It was September (or maybe August) and we were talking Halloween Costumes.   We couldn’t come to a family consensus.

I knew this day would come.  The day my children didn’t want family themed costumes, but I hadn’t guessed it would be so soon.

We would pick a theme and no one would agree on what characters and suddenly everyone had their own ideas and I knew it was over.

I summoned the Force.  “These are not the costumes you are looking for” I told the children.

Eloise was the first to turn.  She underestimated the power of the dark side.   In her costume she was transformed.IMG_3875

Milo soon found his inner droid and we were off.  Well almost.  First Eloise wanted to be Princess Darth Vader.  What in the world does that look like?  And poor Milo, no way Leon was letting him go out in this, unless it was to a disco…

There was going to be major work to get this team where we needed to be.

You may have also noticed that Star Wars lacks in strong female characters.  We can’t (and don’t want) to all be Leia. I took a page from Eloise’s reinvention and decided a female Wookie was in order.

Leon knowing he was going to do most  all of the work went with a custom-made Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi get up.IMG_0017

Ok now we were off.  Stay tuned this week for the process. You really don’t want to miss how this

The Kelly Family Halloween costume is one of my favorite Halloween traditions. On Halloween night I kept checking Facebook for the famous post. When it hit social media- I was not disappointed. Killing it once again!!
