WWHD?

Aug

Remember how I tell you all the time that my friends are crazy awesome?  Well last week I got this request from, as Leon calls them, ‘Our St Elmo’s Fire Posse’

A guest post for your blog from the four of us. Please post.
If you don’t, we’ll have to post on eKohli and just link to it in all upcoming Kelly blog comments (or, more likely, Marc and Geri will just hack the Kelly blog and post it anyway) :)

As Leon alluded to in his comment yesterday, after tennis on Tuesday Kristin decided to drive home a new route, an open field.  She claims she can see her house from where the road ends.

Pike’s Peak or Bust

Kristin and I have decided (and by posting it here we now can’t back down) that in 2011 we are going to climb Pike’s Peak.  If all those Western settlers and Native Americans can do it, surely with our camelbacks and high tech hiking equipment we can too.

In our lovely mountain town of Cripple Creek there are some very adorable donkeys. They are the descendants of the mining donkeys from over 150 years ago, used in the gold rush.  In order for the town to feed and care for this wild crew of about a dozen, Cripple Creek hosts an annual event (now in it’s 79th year) called Donkey Derby Days.

Executive chef, Shane Lyons, of one of our favorite local restaurants, Nosh, was a former contestant on the  Food Network’s The Next Food Network Star. This past week he brought some of his Food Network cronies to town for a benefit dinner.

Go Fly a Kite

May

We have had a really windy weekend, so much so that Eric and Becca’s flight out of COS yesterday was canceled.  Trust me nothing is scarier than being in one of those prop planes in crazy winds. That said, it is great weather for kite flying, and that is just what we did.

I too am what I eat, which last weekend means I was made of delicious chocolate covered Randy’s donuts.
