How I felt when I saw the Neilsen Book on Tues evening.
When I married Shane, we created the perfect storm for TV Watching.
Both he and I grew up in TV ‘watching’ households. And by watching, I mean that the TV was always on- no matter what, no matter who was in the room, no matter who was watching or wasn’t watching it. Some people like to have classical music playing in the background while cooking or reading- we have to have SportsCenter blaring, or CNN, or Bravo….
A few weeks ago we were chosen to become a Neilsen Family.

Remember how I tell you all the time that my friends are crazy awesome? Well last week I got this request from, as Leon calls them, ‘Our St Elmo’s Fire Posse’
A guest post for your blog from the four of us. Please post.
If you don’t, we’ll have to post on eKohli and just link to it in all upcoming Kelly blog comments (or, more likely, Marc and Geri will just hack the Kelly blog and post it anyway)

Have you ever seen the episode of The Office where Michael tries to get his team not to worry about their pending company bankruptcy by having an internal office murder mystery? It’s hilarious and frankly what good manager doesn’t pull techniques from the Michael handbook? This past weekend Leon and I hosted a murder mystery for my Colorado Springs team.

As you know, Kathy and I would love to move to Colorado and have been a recent target of the KCFFRP (Kelly Colorado Family & Friends Relocation Program) Unbeknown to Heather, the relocation was quickly becoming highly probable when my parents announced moving to Florida by year end. Since then, new evidence has come to light that is once again potentially dooming our future relocation:

I have probably driven most people around me mildly crazy with my thrift store addiction (JR has put a ban on further purchase of kitchy kitchen items), but it is something I started in my early teens and will probably never stop. It all started with my friend Robyn and shopping for “back to school” clothes. Then we favored the crazy polyester of the seventies. Of course, it took time to perfect my vintage style and my father worried that I would look like a homeless person for the rest of my life, but his fears were unfounded.

There has been some previous blogs on the topic of the diverse readership of All Things Kelly. I think that one of the biggest reasons for that is the host’s moderate and sensible posts, and in her overall approach to life. Although I’m sure that the delightful and cute Miss Eloise rather than the stout dose of common sense is the real reason behind a majority of the hits per week, but I digress.
This moderation makes us all feel so non-judgmental and grown up, but I think what we all need is some extremism!

Much like the mysterious Kelly guest bloggers, I thought it would be fun to play “Who does that?”
Kathy and I are in love with a woman who puts our personal chef neighbor to shame with her culinary skillz. Recently, she came over and volunteered to bring dessert. Here’s what really happened:

The thing about treasure hunting is the thrill of the hunt itself and the satisfaction of finding that one-of-a-kind, or previously very expensive item for next to nothing. Here are five of my favorite fabulous finds & tips on acquiring such treasures!

When I broke my back snowboarding in 2009, I was in all sorts of pain. Although the doctor finally said my T-7 Vertebrae was healed, the pain lingered for over a year. I went to 2 doctors, 3 physical therapists, and 1 chiropractor. I wore special shoes, got an expensive ergonomic desk chair (thanks Heather!), and purchased over a dozen heating pads (don’t ask). The pharmacists at Walgreens knew me by name.

Hello Kelly blog readers! Heather asked me to do a guest blog post of my top five vegetarian recipes. ”FIVE?” I thought. I’ve surprised myself and managed to cut it down to 8 recipes, but that does include a bread, a salad, and a dessert. And there are dozens of other recipes that can’t all be included in one blog post, but I’m happy to email them to anyone who is interested!
